It begins by exploring broad principles and then shifts focus to substantive topics and issues within the public health field, including the development of public health practices, the determinants of health status, legal aspects, and the public health information systems. Managerial and financial accounting are then described, with a particular emphasis on the budgeting process and financial reporting, followed by a review of ratio analysis. The course concludes with a series of topics of special interest to the health care professional, including grant writing, business plan development, and international health care economics.
