Lesson Group 2: Introduction to Physical Therapy
The Profession of Physical Therapy and Career Opportunities for the AideIn this lesson, you will learn the role rehabilitation plays in providing patients with physical therapy treatments. You will also explore the many opportunities to be found in this exciting new field of work in both private and public health care systems.
In this lesson, you will learn about the patient’s bill of rights and the role each member of the rehabilitation team plays in protecting those rights. You will also gain an understanding of the moral issues that apply to the daily practice of the PT aide.
In this lesson, you will look at how effective and sensitive communication on the part of the physical therapy aide is essential to the job. You will gain an understanding of medical word formation, abbreviations, and common terms you will encounter as a PT aide. You will also explore the major components of a physical therapy patient’s medical record.

Our comprehensive Physical Therapy Aide training program teaches students how to assist patients with a variety of problems from minor sprains to auto accident injuries to injuries requiring rehabilitation.
